#73 Trevor Darling
HT/WT/40: 6-5/306/5.82
OT Miami Central HS
(Miami, FL)

4/3/12 - Miami Central High School Class of 2014 OL Trevor Darling grew up a big Miami Hurricane fan.

So, when he landed an ultra-early UM scholarship offer, those closest to him had little doubt where he would wind up.

And now he's expected to commit to the Hurricanes today. Darling's father will be calling UM coaches later, and after that if everything goes according to plan he'll be on the Miami commit list.

"He loves the U," Darling's mother told CaneSport today. "His father will call coaches just to make sure everything is good and then we should be making a decision." [More...]

The University of Miami picked up its second commitment of the day earlier tonight. This one comes from a 2014 prospect - QB Alin Edouard. It didn't take long for Edouard (Hialeah, Fla./Hialeah) to consider his new scholarship offer.

Edouard received some exciting news before lunch on Wednesday when he learned Miami had offered him. He previously said on Monday he'd commit if he got the offer. #22 Joseph Yearby
HT/WT/40: 5-9/191/
RB Miami Central HS
(Miami, FL)

2/26/13 - The University of Miami landed a big 2014 commitment from Miami Central running back Joseph Yearby on Tuesday.

Yearby had been a Florida State commit since May of 2012. He decided to switch his commitment to Miami because of new offensive coordinator James Coley.

"Me and coach Coley have a good relationship," Yearby said. "I like him and trust him a lot. He told me that he wants me to join him at Miami because he thinks we can do big things together in his offense." Yearby is a ranked as a four star prospect by 247Sports with a 96 rating. He is the No. 66 player in the country for the 2014 class and the No. 9 player in the state of Florida. [More...]

#66 Nick Linder
HT/WT/40: 6-3/278/5.2
C St. Thomas Aquinas HS
(Fort Lauderdale, FL)

3/6/13 - St. Thomas Aquinas center Nick Linder wants to join his brother in Coral Gables.

Linder, the brother of Brandon, a Hurricanes guard, committed to Al Golden's program Wednesday night. He's the fifth commit in Miami's 2014 class.

Linder is unranked by the major scouting sites, but he's known for his polish — as most St. Thomas linemen are — and tremendous upside.

At 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds, Linder will likely be limited to the inside of the line, with center being his favorite, and probably strongest, position. [More...]

#52 K.C. McDermott
HT/WT/40: 6-6/285/
OT Palm Beach Central HS
(Wellington, FL)

3/28/13 - He started with a list of 5 schools, then slowly whittled that list down to his final two of Miami and Notre Dame. Once that was done, he visited both schools, and then made his choice. To top that off, he is shutting his recruiting down, and will not be taking any more visits. This, according to Jeff Greer, is mainly due to he and his family hating the recruiting process. They has a general disdain for the games and the shopping around, and wanted to make sure they were making the right decision and sticking with it.

Making his choice even more difficult, is that he had family connections at both schools. One of his brothers is a graduate assistant at Notre Dame, and his grandfather was a huge Irish fan. On the flip side, his other brother Shane is the current center for Miami, and they would have a chance to play together. for a year before Shane graduates. Of course, the distance factor is also present, although they made it clear it would not weigh as much into his decision as it might with other recruits. [More...]

#9 Reilly Gibbons
HT/WT/40: 6-6/285/4.92
OT St. Petersburg Catholic HS
(St. Petersburg, FL)

4/8/13 - Offensive tackle Reilly Gibbons said there was no compromise in his decision to commit to Miami. He becomes the fourth offensive line prospect to pledge to the Hurricanes.

“Miami has the best education in the state of Florida,” said Gibbons at his announcement from his high school gym. "The staff is great and I feel like part of the family down there. I plan on majoring in business and then getting a law degree. It’s great to stay home and play there. That’s important to me and my family. Now they can come to practices and games.”

For Gibbons it was just the perfect fit both on and off the field.

“It’s been a long process,” Gibbons said. “It’s a great school with great academics. They have a great football program. It’s exactly what I am looking for. There was no compromise.” [More...]

#15 Brad Kaaya
HT/WT/40: 6-4/215/
QB Chaminade HS
(West Hills, CA)

5/13/13 - The Canes are working hard on the QB recruiting trail this year, with offers out to more than a handful of guys. They already have a commitment from one QB in Alin Eduoard, but picked up another today in Brad Kaaya.

Golden is going back to Cali, and he's coming back with another p_layer_. After pilfering the west coast last year to get Devante Bond, he sent his staff back to West Hills to pick up consensus 3 star and pro-style QB Brad Kaaya.

Miami courted Kaaya for quite a while before the QB pulled the trigger. They had to contend with the likes of Arizona State, Stanford, and UCLA for Kaaya's services. There was always mutual interest between Miami and Kaaya, and that interest only grew after his visit to UM. [More...]

"I committed to them today, that's where I'm going to be playing at the next level," Stuckey said.

Stuckey says he made the decision to switch commitments after coach Jethro Franklin visited his school today.
