College Career

Video

Before making his mark on the pro level, Hill was a star receiver for the University of Miami (Fla.), where his amazing speed earned him the nickname "Thrill" Hill. He finished his collegiate career with 107 catches for 1,643 yards and 11 touchdowns and was a part of the 1987 national champion Hurricanes squad.

'the Thrill' would infuriate opposing players and fans( and even some Miami supporters) with his over-the-top antics, but this guy was productive and he made some big plays. Who can forget his 44 yard catch against Notre Dame in 89 that came on 3rd and 43 in what ended up being one of the greatest drives in college football history. Or his run up the Cotton Bowl tunnel after burning Texas on a deep route, where he would proceed to shoot down 'the Sheriff' Stanley Richard. He was the Bart Simpson of this program, he may have annoyed you, but he was entertaining. Hill would finish his UM career as the all-time leader in kickoff return yardage with 1,169, eigth in career catches with 107, eight in recieving yards at 1,643 and eleventh in touchdown catches with 11. Now, that's something to celebrate.

Pro Career

TRANSACTIONS: Selected by Miami Dolphins in first round (23th overall) of 1991 NFL draft…

His first taste of the NFL came when the Miami Dolphins drafted him in the first round (23rd overall) of the 1991 NFL Draft. But his first reception in the pros actually came as a member of the Phoenix Cardinals that same year after they traded a draft pick to the Dolphins to acquire Hill's services.

Hill spent four good years in a Cardinals uniform, posting a career-high 58 catches for 861 yards in 1992 before hitting the free agent market in 1995. That's when surprisingly, the Dolphins came calling and signed him to a one-year deal. Although he only registered 12 catches that season with the Dolphins, he still managed to lead the team in receiving yardage with 21.7 yards per catch. He spent one more year in Miami before wrapping up his career with the New Orleans Saints in 1997. His playing days ended on a rather high note as he grabbed 55 balls for 761 yards and two touchdowns for the Saints in his final NFL season.

Personal Bio

Upon his retirement from football in 1997, Hill took a year off to map out the direction he wanted to go with his career. In 1999, he attended a police academy and landed his first job outside of professional football as a police officer in Sunrise, Fla. Motivated by the steady action he often saw in his position and by the way his career was going, he moved on to became a deputy sheriff in Palm Beach County, Fla. in 2002 and began focusing on becoming a federal agent. In 2003, Hill was selected to be an agent and has since been a very valuable addition to the DHS.

Despite being several years removed from his playing days, Hill still manages to stay relatively close to the game. He serves as an NFL uniform inspector on gamedays and has been doing it for the last two years in Miami. His basic duties include keeping track of improper signage and making sure players have their jerseys tucked in and are wearing properly licensed gear.
